What the run is like
This stretch sits inside Durmitor National Park, the UNESCO-listed park that takes in the upper Tara canyon. Tara Kula Raft runs it three times a day; the first boats leave at 9:30. You can start at their office in Žabljak or be collected from your accommodation.
The boats stop at the Ljutica spring for a drink of water straight out of the rock, and there is a break for swimming and photographs. The crew also takes a photo of each boat as it passes under the Đurđevića Tara bridge, the five-arched concrete bridge that carries the Žabljak–Pljevlja road over the canyon.
The run ends at Žugića Luka, and a vehicle brings everyone back. If you are staying in Žabljak and want a morning on the river without giving up the whole day, this is the one to pick.
